To reach by sea Olbia, an important municipality in the Province of North-East Sardinia being established, there are ferries of various shipping companies, departing from four ports of the Italian peninsula, in some cases throughout the year and in others seasonally .
As regards the location of the departure ports, one is located in Lazio, two in Tuscany and another in Liguria. The following paragraphs specify which are the seaside cities from which the ships sail and other useful indications for planning the trip.
The port of Olbia is the first in all of Italy in terms of passenger traffic on medium and long-distance routes, because it is the closest Sardinian port to the continent. It is also the landing place from which, once disembarked, you can easily get to Costa Smeralda by car or bus; it is not even difficult to continue by car to other areas of the island, thanks to the road connections present.

The route starting from Civitavecchia is the shortest of the four, with some trips on this route which, lasting 5.5 hours, are the fastest to Sardinia; the same travel time also for the route that starts from Piombino, despite being about 5 nautical miles longer.
