Ports of departure to get to Capri
The island of Capri can be reached by motor ships, ferries, hydrofoils and catamarans, as well as with an expensive flight by helicopter. The most important port of departure from the mainland is the port of Naples, thirty-two kilometers away, although the closest is the port of Sorrento at only fifteen kilometers away. You can also leave from the main ports of the Amalfi Coast and from those of Ischia, Seiano and Castellammare di Stabia.
Naples – Capri sea transport
From Molo Beverello in Naples you can go every day to the port of Capri by hydrofoil in fifty minutes thanks to the companies Caremar, Snav, NLG. From Calata Porta di Massa you can instead leave with the Caremar fast motorboats which reach their destination in an hour or with the ferries of the same company in an hour and twenty minutes; also in this case the route is carried out all year round. From May to November the NLG sails for the island’s seaport also from the port of Castellammare di Stabia (with a stop in Sorrento), from where Alilauro Gruson make a direct morning run and from April to September also makes the crossing on the route to Capri from Seiano, a fraction of Vico Equense. On the link below more information about all the races:
Ischia – Capri sea transport
From July to October the Alilauro hydrofoils run the Ischia – Capri line with a stop in Procida on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Sorrento – Capri sea transport
From Sorrento to Capri the Caremar fleet offers the fast motorboat, which arrives in less than half an hour. Instead, the NLG company operates on the route only from May to December with hydrofoils departing from Piazza Marinai d’Italia to Capri. The Alilauro Gruson hydrofoils guarantee the route all year round. On the following link you can find all the information about the races: Sorrento – Capri.

From the Amalfi Coast in the months of July, August, September and October the fast boats of the NLG go to Marina Grande; precisely from the port of Amalfi, the port of Positano and from the port of Salerno (Molo Manfredi).
