From 3 September to 18 December 2022 more than thirty towns of Barbagia share ancient customs and traditions and the beauties of the territory through an experiential path organized by the municipal administrations of reference, by the Region, by the Chamber of Commerce of Nuoro and its Special Economic Promotion Company, and Banco di Sardegna, with the support of the shipping companies Grimaldi Lines, Moby, Tirrenia and Sardinia Ferries.
The port closest to Barbagia is that of Arbatax, where it is advisable to disembark to participate in the event due to the territorial contiguity of the port with the places affected by the event. As a second option you can choose the port of Olbia or Golfo Aranci. However, the ferries to Arbatax depart exclusively from Civitavecchia. They are those of the Grimaldi Lines fleet, which with two evening departures a week make a crossing that has a journey time of nine hours.
On the routes from Livorno and Savona to Golfo Aranci you can benefit from the offer on Sardinia Ferries ferries: a € 30 coupon, to be used from 21 September to 21 December 2022, valid on a minimum purchase of € 150, upon registration to the Corsica Club .
And it is on the Livorno ➜ Olbia round trip that Grimaldi Lines proposes the offer: a 20% discount on the basic fee and on supplements for accommodation, animals and accompanying vehicle of the total cost of the ferry ticket; fixed rights, on-board services and premium related to the multi-risk insurance policy are excluded. It takes seven hours and thirty minutes of navigation during the day and about nine hours at night. The offer is valid for bookings from 15 September to 15 December 2022 for certain days and departure times.
Moby and Tirrenia, the other two companies that sponsor the event, contribute to the dissemination and advertising of the calendar of events and itineraries.

Autumn in Barbagia
The “Autumn in Barbagia” event aims to raise awareness, also in 2022, of the most genuine traditions of the Sardinian hinterland. Founded in 2001 in the wake of the “Heart of Sardinia” project, in turn based on “Cortes Apertas“, the event during which historic houses in the Municipality of Oliena opened their courtyards to let them appreciate food and wine and artistic treasures.
The historical regions of the area, of about 1,300 square kilometers, are Barbagia di Nuoro, Barbagia di Ollolai (or Superiore), Mandrolisai, Barbagia di Belvì (or Centrale), Barbagia di Seùlo (or Inferiore) and Ogliastra (ancient Barbàgia Trigònia).
Also this year it is possible to explore the natural landscapes, go to the squares, enter the alleys and courtyards of the houses of the villages to get to know the territory, culture, crafts and typical Barbagian cuisine up close through routes, exhibitions, reviews, exhibitions, shows, concerts, workshops, tastings, refreshment points and festivals.
