Christmas 2022 in Santa Teresa Gallura

In Santa Teresa Gallura (Lungoni in the Gallura dialect) Christmas is not monotonous thanks to the scheduled events and, moreover, Corsica is a stone's throw away.

In Lungoni for the Christmas holidays

Spending all of the Christmas holidays or taking part in some of the events in the program organized for the Christmas holidays in Santa Teresa Gallura is not a bad idea, if you want to get to know Northern Sardinia but also if you want to visit Corsica. The territory is the northernmost one of the island of Sardinia and it is therefore located a few nautical miles away from the French island. The port, which has some importance since Roman times, has the name by which the town was once called: Longone; it is currently a small but modern maritime station where ferries to and from Bonifacio operate.

Maritime connections with Corsica

From 1 November to 15 December 2022, due to maintenance work in the Lungonese port, the connections on this section were temporarily transferred to the port of Palau.

The Santa Teresa Gallura – Bonifacio route will be active again from mid-December 2022 (precisely from Tuesday 20 December) and departures and arrivals will be carried out regularly; the ferry takes fifty minutes to travel it, either way or back. There will be four pairs of races per day, one more than in previous years.

To Santa Teresa Gallura from the Italian peninsula by ship

To reach Santa Teresa Gallura from the Italian peninsula, you can take a ferry to Olbia and continue by car or bus along the approximately 62 kilometers of road that you have to travel. Every day, and also in winter, there are ferries on the Livorno – Olbia route, whose journey time is between approximately seven hours and thirty minutes and nine hours for daytime crossings, and between eight hours and thirty minutes and ten hours for night rides. And the ferries on the Civitavecchia – Olbia route take, with daily departures, between five hours and thirty minutes and six hours during the day, and seven or eight hours at night.

At the links you can find out about departure times and prices; you can also enter the date, the number of passengers and a possible vehicle to obtain a more precise estimate; therefore, you can also enter any accompanying animals and, in the case of routes connecting the peninsula to Sardinia, choose the type of accommodation (deck passage is the default, but you can opt for an armchair or a cabin).

Once landed in the port of Olbia, by car you can take the SS 125 Orientale Sarda and then the SS 133 bis. For those traveling on foot, the ARST 601 bus connects Olbia (Isola Bianca port) to Santa Teresa Gallura, taking about two hours.
