Ferries routes Italy – Greece
There is no shortage of shipping companies that allow you to reach Greece by ferry with departures from Italy. Superfast Ferries operate in collaboration with Anek Lines Italia on the routes between various Italian ports – on the Adriatic Sea – and the Hellenic coasts on the routes to Gomenizza (in Greek Igoumenitsa), Patras and Corfu both from Ancona, Venice and Bari; Grimaldi with Minoan Lines from Ancona and Brindisi to Gomenizza or to Corfù and from Ancona to Patras; Ventouris Ferries, only in summer, from Bari to Corfù, Igoumenitsa, Sami (Kefalonia).
Anek Lines ferry ships depart daily from the port of Ancona and the port of Bari for the port of Igoumenitsa (intermediate stop) and the port of Patras. During the summer season the number of trips is increased, some of which also with a further stop at the port of Corfu. Same destinations also from the port of Venice even if with fewer rides. The route to Igoumenitsa is covered from Bari in about 10 hours, from Ancona in 17/18 hours, from Venice in about 26 hours. From this intermediate stop the route to Patras takes about seven hours. When the stopover is first made also in Corfu, where one arrives, from Ancona after about 16 hours, from Venice after about 25, from Bari after 9 hours, logically the times of arrival to the following stopovers slip. But there are not many races on which this stop is also performed.
With Minoan Lines (part of the Grimaldi Lines group) ships depart daily from Ancona to reach Igoumenitsa in 21 hours and 30 minutes, or Patras in 23 hours and a half. From the port of Brindisi every day with several trips a day to get to Igoumenitsa in 10 hours and in summer, twice a week, to Corfu in 8 hours. The Ancona – Corfu line is also planned.

Ventouris Ferries ferries leave their moorings from the port of Bari for Greece only in the summer months. For the whole month of July there are eighteen departures for Igoumenitsa, of which seven direct trips (in 12 hours you reach the destination), eleven trips with an intermediate stop in Corfu (after 11 hours), two with a final stop at the port of Sami on the island of Kefalonia in 4 hours and 30 minutes more of navigation. In the first days of September, however, the races are only direct ones, every other day.
The fleets on the Greek routes
The ships of the Anek fleet are labeled by the company itself as Ferry Boat. In addition to the deck passage and the airplane-type seats, single, double, triple, quadruple and even luxury, single or double cabins can be booked. They allow the transport of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, campers and caravans with the “Camping on board” formula, commercial vehicles). On board there are restaurant and self service, bar, swimming pool, shops, slot machine room.
Grimaldi Minoan Lines ferries are defined as Cruise Ferries. You can book the standard seat, internal and external cabins, superior cabins. Available self-service restaurant, bar, shop, slot room, children’s play area, deck with solarium. On many ships there is also an a la carte restaurant and a swimming pool.
The so-called Ferry Boats of Ventouris Ferries are equipped with a restaurant, bar, casino and duty-free shop.
