Santorini has two ports, but only Athinios, in the southeast of the island, is used for the transit of ferries (the other port is for disembarking cruise passengers).
The port of Athinios is a few kilometers from Fira, the main center of the island and can be reached by bus or taxi.
During the summer months the port area is busy, so it's best to get there at least an hour in advance. Better still, it's advisable to reach the port of Athinios in advance and with the ticket already with you.
Numerous maritime connections with Mykonos, Crete, Kos, Anafi, etc etc.
The best way to reach the port of Santorini is by ferry.
If you are already on the island we recommend a taxi or a private transfer, especially from Oia which is about 20 kilometers away.
Instead, buses are also frequent from Fira. The only precaution, it's best to arrive at the bus station at least 20 minutes before departure.
Near the port of Athinios there are travel agencies, shops, bars and restaurants.
