Porto Santo Stefano, like other Tuscan and non-Tuscan towns, is certainly one of the most popular tourist destinations for Italian and foreign tourists. Together with Orbetello and Porto Ercole, over the years it has become a point of reference for those who wish to leave the chaotic and stressful metropolis to relax after a long year of work.
From the port of Santo Stefano it is possible to reach the island of Giglio thanks to the ferries which offer numerous daily connections in the summer. If you have a boat (rentable on site), you can also land on the island independently.
Rich in sunny beaches and crystal clear waters, Porto Santo Stefano is also fascinating from a historical point of view: the city, in fact, is protected by the Spanish Fortress, built at the end of the sixteenth century. The town is also known for the maritime Palio of the Argentario, a historic rowing race that takes place in August.
