The port of Arbatax is located in the homonymous hamlet of the Municipality of Tortolì, at the end of a peninsula called Capo Bellavista. It consists of a quay where the Tirrenia ferries from Olbia, Cagliari, Genoa and Civitavecchia dock. A specific area of the port, located a short distance from the embarkations, is intended for the piers where pleasure boats are moored.

Near the port of Arbatax insist nature activities mainly options and accommodation. The only exceptions are the souvenir shops, Sardinian handicrafts and items for boating, fishing and diving .
Moving towards the center of the Municipality of Tortolì, however, it is possible to find a more conspicuous and varied number of commercial activities.
The territory of the Municipality of Tortolì is rich above all from the landscape point of view. The thousands of tourists who reach Ogliastra every year to spend their summer holidays are literally enraptured by the clarity of the waters that bathe the beaches of the bay of Portu Frailis and Cala Moresca.
The Arbataxian coast is essentially made up of granite and porphyry. This peculiarity is well represented by the so-called red rocks, located between the port and Capo Bellavista. The Tortolì pond also deserves a mention: located a short distance from the port and the city center, it has been included in Natura 2000, a network created by the EU that includes sites of community interest and special protection areas.
From the historical-artistic point of view, the municipal area boasts a series of monuments. Among these it is impossible not to mention the church of Sant'Andrea (patron saint of the city), the church of Stella Maris, the church of San Giorgio and the church of San Gemiliano. Also worth mentioning are the Tower of San Miguel a few steps from the port, the Tower of San Gemiliano, the Lighthouse of Capo Bellavista and the archaeological area where the Nuraghe S'Ortali 'e su Monti is located.
