The most important attraction near the port is undoubtedly the Orthodox Cathedral named after St. John Vladimir, patron saint of Bar. The building is very impressive, and with its golden domes, blue glass , bell towers and the white of the facade represents an important example of Balkan architecture.
A heartfelt procession is dedicated to the saint which, starting from the church, crosses the old town (Stari Bar), and reaches the top of Mount Rumijabehind the city. Regardless of the religious event, which is also very much felt by Catholics and Muslims, a visit to the ruins of Stari Bar, a few kilometers away from the modern city, is absolutely worth doing as long as, of course, there is enough time available.
