Located to the north-east of the promontory of Gaeta, the port of Formia consists of a series of piers from which the ferries and hydrofoils of the LazioMar company leave for the islands of Ponza and Ventotene. In the port it is also possible to identify an area where pleasure boats dock.

The local public transport service by road has been managed for 25 years by the ATP company of Formia.
From the Fiumicino airport station it is possible to reach Roma Termini using the Leonardo Express train service. Once you arrive at Termini station, take the regional trains that reach Formia-Gaeta station.
From Roma Termini and Napoli Centrale it is possible to reach Formia with the regional trains that arrive at the Formia-Gaeta station.

Near the port of Formia there are a whole series of activities, mainly bars, restaurants, pastry shops, night clubs, clothing stores, handicrafts and so on.
There are numerous places to visit near the port of Formia. Undoubtedly among these the Roman Cisternone, an imposing hydraulic work of the imperial era, and the tombs of Marco Tullio Cicero and his beloved daughter Tulliola emerge. Also noteworthy are the medieval Castellone, the Porta degli Spagnoli with the eighteenth-century majolica clock, the megalithic walls and the remains of the Angevin Castle in the village of Mola. Also worthy of mention are the Roman fountain of San Remigio, the national archaeological museum and the Municipal villa.
