The port of Lipari is located on the eastern side of the island, a stone's throw from the historic center. It consists of a quay and a pier where ferries and hydrofoils from the other islands of the archipelago, the mainland and Sicily dock. There are also several piers for mooring yachts and other private vessels.

Near the port of Lipari there are several commercial activities: boat rental; car & scooter rental; food; fish; toys; souvenir etcetera.
There are numerous places of interest to visit absolutely once you arrive on the island. In addition to the inevitable walks along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, via Garibaldi and via Crispi, the castle of Lipari is an indispensable stop, located on a fortress overlooking the sea. As a whole, the regional Aeolian archaeological museum is located.
The main place of worship in Lipari is undoubtedly the Co-Cathedral of San Bartolomeo, always built inside the walls of the castle. Near the church it is possible to visit the remains of the Norman Holy Savior Monastery.
The church of the Souls of Purgatory also deserves a mention, which overlooks the sea as well as the castle. Finally, as regards the squares, the best known and most frequented by residents and tourists are those of Marina Corta and Sopra la Civita.
