The port of Palma de Mallorca is located on the western side of the island of the same name, the largest in the Balearic archipelago. From a structural point of view, it is characterized by a large area intended to accommodate pleasure boats and by a main quay from which ships sail to mainland Spain (Valencia, Dénia, Barcelona) and Menorca (Mahón).
The Corsica Ferries - Sardinia Ferries company operates within the port area of Palma de Mallorca.
To reach the port you can choose between different solutions .
Car
One of the most practical ways to get around the Palmese area is certainly to rent a car or a two-wheeled vehicle. You can do it both in the city and at the airport, where there are numerous agencies that provide this kind of service.

A cheaper alternative is public transport. The city of Palma de Mallorca is served by the TIB (Transporte de las Islas Baleares), a company that carries out road transport. For more info on timetables and fares, we recommend that you take a look at the company's official website.

The metro (with two lines) and the Tren de Sóller, which connects the center of Palma de Mallorca to Sóller and Inca, the other two main inhabited centers of the island, leave from the intermodal station in piazza di Spagna (also the bus terminus).

The city is served by the Palma de Mallorca-Son Sant Joan airport. The distance between the airport and the port is about 14 km (can be filled in half an hour).

Contrary to what one might think, Palma de Mallorca is not only a popular tourist destination, but also a city rich in art and history. On its territory, in fact, there are numerous monuments and places that will not fail to attract your attention.
One of the most important buildings in the city is undoubtedly the cathedral of Santa Maria di Palma, called La Seu. In Gothic style, it is a bishopric and is famous for its rose window, one of the largest in the world.
Next to the cathedral we find the Palazzo de l'Almudaina: strongly desired by James II of Mallorca, the building (Gothic with clear Arab influences ) is one of the official residences of the king of Spain.
La Llotja also deserves a mention: located on the seafront not far from the monuments listed so far, the structure is also in Gothic style and was once the seat of the stock exchange. Inside, impromptu exhibitions are held.
Another important building is certainly the Bellver Castle. Located on a hill just outside the city, it dates back to 1300 and was a place of imprisonment for years. From the Castle it is possible to admire the town below and the bay of Palma de Mallorca.
Before leaving, we also recommend a visit to the 13th-century basilica of San Francesco and its cloister, the Arab baths and the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, the house-studio where the famous Catalan painter lived and worked for almost thirty years.
