Located along the southern coast of Tunisia , the port of Zarzis is characterized by a quay where ferries from mainland France (usually from Marseille) dock. The Marseille-Zarzis connection is carried out by the Corsica Linea and CTN ( Compagnie tunisienne de navigation ) companies, which have long since started a collaboration to create a "bridge" linking Europe to the main ports of the North African country.
There are various ways to reach the port of Zarzis. If you are already in the city center, you will have the opportunity to reach it on foot. If, on the other hand, you are in neighboring towns, we suggest you rent a car, take a taxi or use public transport.
The city of Zarzis is served by the international airport of Djerba-Zarzis, located in the northwestern part of the island of Djerba, about 9 km from the capital Houmt Souk. One of the fastest and most comfortable ways to reach Zarzis (and in general to move from one location to another) is certainly the taxi, whose fares are not particularly expensive. Alternatively, at the airport you can rent a car and move around in complete autonomy.
If these two solutions are not for you, you will always have the opportunity to use public transport. Once you reach Houmt Souk by taxi , at the central station you can take the bus that will take you to Zarzis. From the terminus, vehicles depart daily that will allow you to reach other renowned Tunisian tourist resorts: Médenine, Gabes, Sfax, Susa, the capital Tunis, etc.
From the bus terminal the tourist port is a few hundred meters away; therefore, it is possible to reach the port area also on foot.

Except for the services that are normally located in a port area, there is not much near the Tunisian port. Moving towards the center, however, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the evocative atmosphere of the souks, the ancient city markets.
The city of Zarzis is not very rich from a historical-cultural point of view. However, on its territory there are numerous artistically valuable places of worship: among these it is possible to mention the Sidi Kbir mosque and the Elhisar mosque.
