About 90 kilometers from Trieste, Rovinj (Rovinj in Croatian) is a beautiful seaside resort on the Istrian coast .
The fast ferry connections to / from the capital of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region are guaranteed only during the summer season (from mid-May to mid-September) and only for the weekend. Connections with Piran are also active on weekends (Piran in Slovenian).
The nautical miles that separate Trieste and Rovinj are covered in about 2h 40min. To / from Poreč, on the other hand, it takes about 1h 35min of navigation.

The nearest airport is Pula, which is about 40 kilometers from Rovinj. From Pula it is possible to reach Rovinj by bus (see "How to reach the port - Bus") and taxi.
The closest railway stations are Canfanaro and Pula. From these places it is possible to reach Rovinj by bus (see "How to reach the port - Train").

Near the port of Rovinj there are several commercial activities: bars; restaurants; pizzerias; car & scooter rental; boat rental; food shops; typical products; Pharmacy; etcetera.
Those arriving by hydrofoil in Rovinj can start their visit immediately. The historic center, in fact, unequivocally reveals the Venetian influence that lasted from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century. Therefore, the first thing to do is get lost in the alleys and streets of the center in search of urban and architectural traces attributable to the very long domination of the "Serenissima".
Accompanying the tourist during the walk is the bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia, an obligatory stop on a visit to Rovinj. From above you can see a wonderful panorama that absolutely deserves to be immortalized. The boat tour is also not to be missedto discover the islets scattered along the coast. Finally, particular mention for the large open-air exhibition that is organized along via Grisia, the road connecting the main square and the aforementioned Church of Sant'Eufemia. In practice, every Sunday in August, from morning to evening, walls, doors, balconies, stairs, windows become the exhibition venue for creations made by artists, professionals and non-professionals, coming from Istria and from outside the region.
