The shipping company born under the name of Corsica Line was founded in 1968 by Pascal P. Lota. In the same year the first ferry for the connection between Corsica and Italy was inaugurated: the Corsica Express (600 passengers and 60 cars). From that moment on, the company continued to grow and the connections with Italy were also joined by those with France.
In 1981 the Sardinia Ferries brand was born and a new line was inaugurated: Livorno/Olbia.
Corsica Ferries Sardinia Ferries, over the years, has always opened up to new routes: in 1996, to the lines already in place, those of Civitavecchia/Sardinia and Nice/Corsica were added, while in 2001 those of Livorno/Golfo Aranci and Tolone/Corsica. In 2013 a new Elba-Corsica connection was inaugurated: Portoferraio-Bastia.
Today, the active lines are 14: 7 from Italy and 7 from France.
The Corsica Ferries fleet consists of 13 ships used for the transport of passengers, vehicles and goods.
Children up to 3 years of age travel for free and children from 4 to 11 years pay 50% of the adult fare. Children under the age of 16 can only travel if accompanied by an adult.
Pets are welcome guests on board Corsica Ferries. The passage is subject to a fee and must be reserved. For dogs, a leash and muzzle are mandatory while cats and other small animals must be transported in special cages by the owner. Each animal must be provided with a Certificate of Vaccination and Good Health valid for no more than 3 months from the date of issue. For Corsica and the Balearics it is necessary that the animals are over 15 weeks old, identification (by microchip or tattoo), rabies vaccination and an EU passport. Finally, pets have access to all public places - and also to the restaurant, bar and self-service - as long as they are under careful and constant observation of their owners. On all ships, there are cabins dedicated to "4-legged friends".
The passenger on foot has the right to the free transport of one hand luggage containing personal items as long as the dimensions do not exceed: 200 cm height; 100 cm wide; 50 cm depth. It is allowed to carry your baggage with you in the cabin or in the assigned seat, assuming full responsibility for it.
Any other oversized baggage/s (e.g. canoe, kayak, etc.) if not transported on the roof of the vehicle, must be deposited in the ship's garage subject to acceptance by the loading officer. Such baggage/s will be subject to the payment of fees provided by the Company which declines all responsibility in the event of theft or damage to the baggage.
Bicycles can be safely boarded. They are subject to payment of a fee and must be declared at the time of booking.
On the ferries, the partner Seafy, allows you to use the WI-FI service for the entire crossing, thanks to the satellite connection, for a fee. There are 3 different formulas for accessing the WI-FI service:
On board the Corsica Ferries ferries there are numerous spaces and services used for catering. There is the coffee shop Cafè where you can find a great choice of hot drinks and cold drinks. There is the "Dolce vita" restaurant where you can choose different culinary proposals and the elegant Riviera Lounge bar where you can take a good cocktail with savory or sweet snacks.
